“Accio new Harry Potter book!” (Accio is the wizarding spell to bring an object to you through fast levitation.) Potterheads around the world have been casting this spell for years in attempt to bring a new addition to the Harry Potter series.

Fans can now rejoice! The eighth installment of the Harry Potter series, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” was announced by J.K Rowling on her Pottermore website on February 10. The original idea was to make a play, but fans demanded the script in book format as well.

“We are so thrilled to be publishing the script of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed,’” David Shelley, CEO of Little, Brown Book Group said. “J.K. Rowling and her team have received a huge number of appeals from fans who can’t be in London to see the play and who would like to read the play in book format, so we are absolutely delighted to be able to make it available for them.”

The special rehearsal edition script/book will be available at midnight on July 31, a day after the Harry Potter play opens in London. The new edition will be the first of the eight books to be presented on stage.

The play picks up where the epilogue of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” left off, with Harry Potter dropping off his son Albus at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts.

Harry Potter will be employed at the Ministry of Magic. Both Harry and his son will battle with the Potter legacy and the fight against darkness.

Pottermore, in collaboration with Little, Brown Book Group, and Scholastic will publish the eBook alongside the print editions.

Die-hard fans can barely wait until the play and novel arrive this July.
