Girls Powderpuff football. The seniors challenged the juniors. The game took place on Wednesday, November 16. The girls have been practicing and learning new plays after school since November 9.
The head coach of the powderpuff seniors, Corey Flanagan, is looking forward to showing off his high powered offense run by Mikala Smith and Jasmine Attaway. “The team is very explosive and big plays can happen fast,” said head coach Corey Flanagan.
The competition from the juniors led by head coach Doc Harding seems intense this year. “This team is going to make the seniors look silly,” said head coach Doc Harding. Crucial players included the foreign exchange students Clara Herraez and Maria Hagen, who are the duo at quarterback and running back.
The seniors started off the game fast with a touchdown in the first quarter by Becca Smith. The seniors continued to pick up the pace by scoring three more touchdowns, one of those touchdowns off of a interception by Dominique Massicot. The final result of the game was 26-0 as the seniors dominated the highly talked about juniors.
The juniors will have an opportunity to redeem themselves next year as seniors.
