Jumping off the roof of the NRG Stadium, Lady Gaga performs stunning half-time show for Super Bowl 51. Winner of six Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga received Awards for Best Dance for “Poker Face,” and Best Pop Vocal Album “The Fame Monster”.
The pop idol kept the viewers entertained and awed, starting with a performance on the roof of the NRG stadium. Gaga was singing a mashup between “America The Beautiful” and “This Land Is Your Land” while drones behind her made an American Flag just before she leapt off the roof, into the stadium, then slowly landing on the stage.
During an instrumental part she greeted Super Bowl viewers and the state of Texas, then began to sing her mashup of songs like “Poker Face,” “Born This Way,” “Telephone.” “Just Dance,” “Million Reasons,” and “Bad Romance.”
While singing her songs, Gaga included the costumes and dance moves from her music video “Bad Romance”. During “Bad Romance”, Gaga wore white spanks and a white crop top costume while a white mask covered the background dancers’ faces. Other dancers had on costumes that are similar to football gear like shoulder pads.
After the Super Bowl, Gaga made statements concerning the controversial conflicts about her body weight. She had many comments about “fat shaming”, people saying her body looked fat in the outfits she was wearing.
“I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too,” said Gaga on her Instagram.
She had also posted on Instagram about the topic giving advice to people who were being bullied to in a similar sense.
Many believe Gaga had a great Super Bowl performance and responded well to critic’s comments after the show. Gaga also declined payment for her halftime show, making her one of the few stars to do so.
