The countdown is now over and the NFL draft began on April 28. College football stars got to live their dream and be drafted to one of the special 32 teams. The NFL had been discussing their picks on who and what they need.

For the second consecutive year, the first two draft picks have been quarterbacks. Last year in the 2015 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected quarterback Jameis Winston as their first pick from the Florida State University. The Tennessee Titans selected quarterback Marcus Mariota from the University of Oregon. This year, in the 2016 NFL draft, the Los Angeles Rams traded up to get the first pick from the Cleveland Browns.

They selected quarterback Jared Goff from the University of California. For the second overall pick, the Philadelphia Eagles traded in the draft order with the Tennessee Titans to draft quarterback Carson Wentz from the University of North Dakota State.

The Defending Super Bowl champions Denver Broncos selected Paxton Lynch from the University of Memphis. The Broncos selected Lynch twenty-sixth overall in the first round. University of Ohio State had five first rounders in this NFL Draft. Defensive end Joey Bosa went third to the San Diego Chargers and teammate Ezekiel Elliot followed him and went to the Dallas Cowboys fourth overall. Later, the New York Giants selected cornerback Eli Apple as their tenth pick, the Detroit Lions selected offensive tackle Taylor Decker, and lastly, the New York Jets selected inside linebacker Darron Lee.
