Local Moms Help Houstonians Hit by Harvey

Stephane Mooring, a stay-at-home mom and a resident of the Clear Lake area, teamed up with a friend of hers to help victims of Hurricane Harvey. To accomplish this, they came up with the Harvey Moms Organization. This organization goes to the affected people’s houses and serves the workers and families homemade bagged lunches.

“Now we have been able to make over 1,000 lunches.” she said.

In an interview, Stephane Mooring stated that one goal of Harvey Moms is to help

Harvey families through the holidays. The organization is going to do some fundraising for the families affected by Harvey. The organization is also helping with cleaning up debris from homes.

“We want to do some fundraising to get these kids their Halloween costumes.” said

Mooring. “The next goal is to do something special for these kids at Christmas.”

The Harvey Moms are going meet soon to make a plan for future fundraisers Mooring said. In the same interview, she was asked if there was any possibility that Harvey Moms was going to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

“If there was, I’d be glad to help them in any way I can,” said Mooring.

In the future Harvey moms will be doing more fundraisers. The Harvey Mom’s has grown to over 75 moms and has helped many more people. They plan will continue growing and helping people throughout the year.
