Indian Corn Cupcakes Recipe

With this easy D.I.Y., you can whip up a masterpiece in just a few minutes! This festive treat is a great way to get in the Thanksgiving Day spirit.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of vanilla cupcake mix (you can also make your own mix if you have a favorite cupcake recipe you can make from scratch)
  • 24 white paper liners
  • 1 can of vanilla frosting
  • Yellow food coloring
  • Jellybeans in yellow, red, orange, cream, brown, and white (you can substitute these with M&Ms)

Optional:

  • Pieces yellow Starbursts or cut up squares of banana Laffy Taffy
  • Tan construction paper

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Prepare your box of vanilla cupcake mix, according to instructions on the back. (Or follow regular instructions if you are making them from scratch.)
  2. Pour into paper liners and bake as instructed by the box or the recipe.
  3. While cupcakes cool down, mix your vanilla frosting with a few drops of yellow food coloring to obtain the desired color.
  4. Align 3 cupcakes in a row and spread the yellow tinted icing onto cupcakes.
  5. Arrange jellybeans onto the cupcake in the desired order.

Optional:

  1. Cut tan colored construction pieces into cornhusk shapes. (As shown below)
  2. Add Laffy Taffy or Starburst to create a pad of butter.

Yields 24 cupcakes (8 corn husks)
